With the onset of the winter season, severe gas loadshedding has begun across Mirpurkhas, residents say Sui Southern Gas is deviating from its issued schedule, leaving household stoves cold and forcing families to buy breakfast from the market for school-going children and office-goers.
According to details, local residents across the city are facing a significant reduction in gas supply. Although a loadshedding schedule was issued before winter, consumers allege that the gas supply is now suspended an hour earlier than scheduled and restored an hour later.
Homemakers have expressed particular hardship, stating that the morning gas supply, which starts at 6:30 AM, is abruptly shut off at 2:00 PM, making it difficult to prepare lunch. The evening supply, which resumes at 6:30 PM, is disconnected again at 9:00 PM and remains off until the next morning.
Low pressure during the limited hours of availability further exacerbates the problem. This has forced many households to purchase expensive gas cylinders to meet their daily cooking and heating needs.
Expressing severe concern over receiving gas for a total of only 10 hours during a 24-hour period, consumers have formally demanded a revision of the loadshedding schedule and an immediate improvement in the low supply pressure.
