District Officer Industries, Prices, Weights, and Measures, Khalid Javed Bhatti, led a rigorous inspection campaign in Okara on Wednesday. Following directives from the Director General Industries Punjab, Bhatti, along with his team, conducted a comprehensive inspection of several petrol stations and commercial centers.
The primary objective of the campaign was to check the accuracy of scales, measuring instruments, and weighing equipment used by businesses. Shopkeepers and fuel station operators found guilty of under-measuring through deceptive practices were immediately fined. This action is part of a broader strategy to maintain transparency and fairness in the market.
Inspector Weights and Measures, Nemat Shehzad, played a key role in inspecting various weighing instruments. In particular, Shehzad focused on the scales at sugar mills to ensure farmers receive accurate weight during the crushing season and to prevent potential complaints.
Emphasizing the seriousness of these inspections, Khalid Javed Bhatti declared that no deception in the measurement of essential commodities would be tolerated. Offenders will face heavy fines, and inspection operations will continue to protect public interests and trust.
