Islamabad police reported today that 17 individuals were taken into custody for legal proceedings following a large-scale search and combing operation conducted by law enforcement in multiple jurisdictions of the federal capital.
The extensive operation, which spanned the areas under the Industrial Area, Secretariat, and Ramna police stations, involved the inspection of 418 people, 108 residences, and 38 commercial shops. Authorities also scrutinized seven hostels, 10 hotels, 34 vehicles, and 101 motorcycles during the sweep.
This security initiative is part of a broader strategy, directed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, to curtail criminal elements and enhance the safety of the city. According to officials, such operations are being implemented regularly across various sectors of Islamabad.
SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized that the primary objective of these measures is to tighten the security cordon around illicit actors and reinforce the city”s overall security framework.
The SSP affirmed that the Islamabad Police would persist in taking indiscriminate action against criminals, including land grabbers and drug traffickers.
Officials have also appealed to residents for their cooperation, urging them to report any suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police station or via the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline.
