In a direct engagement with the public, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar today issued on-the-spot instructions to address grievances from citizens and police officers during an open court held at the Central Police Office.

The public hearing was organized under the department”s open-door policy, providing a platform for individuals to present their problems directly to senior command.

During the session, the DIG Headquarters listened to various issues and gave immediate directives to the concerned officers for their resolution, emphasizing that impartial and prompt action is a primary institutional goal.

“The merit-based and prompt resolution of citizens” problems is our foremost priority,” Mr. Zafar affirmed, adding, “Any citizen facing an issue related to the police can attend the open court and my doors are always open to the public.”

Acting on specific applications from citizens, the senior officer mandated that the matters be resolved within a specified timeframe and that a detailed report be submitted to the Central Police Office upon completion.

He also instructed all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) to adhere strictly to their designated office hours, ensure they meet with the public, and resolve their issues without delay.

The DIG concluded by stating that the Islamabad Police is undertaking multiple initiatives to facilitate citizens, noting that holding open courts on a daily basis is helping to address public concerns on a priority basis.
