Rangers arrest 16 criminals

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Friday claimed to have arrested 16 suspected criminals from different parts of the metropolis.

According to a rangers’ spokesman, a rangers’ team conducted targeted raids in Kharadar, Risla, Napier Road and Mithadar and apprehended four members of a banned political party, MQM-London.

Citing their crimes, the spokesman said that the arrested suspects were involved in several target killings and extortion cases.

Separately, a rangers’ party arrested an alleged extortionist, Din Muhammad alias Vinao from Garden area. The accused was stated to be involved in extortion and target killing in different areas of the city.

During crackdown on street criminals the paramilitary force raided Rizvia Society, Garden, Paposh Nagar, Nazimabad and Chakiwara areas and detained 10 street criminals and a drug peddler.

Later on, the arrested accused were handed over to the police along with a seized illegal weapon, ammunition, contraband and drugs.
