KARACHI:Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar has directed all departmental heads to achieve the targets for revenue for the current financial year 2018-19.
Presiding a meeting of revenue departments in his office on Tuesday which attend by the metropolitan commissioner Dr. Syed Saif ur Rehman, financial advisor Dr. Asghar Shaikh, director coordination Masood Alam, director technical S.M Shakaib, director budget Mehmood Baig, and other officers.
He warned that those who failed to achieve their revenue target will have to face action against them whereas such officers will be encouraged who would help in revenue collection.
Akhtar said all officers must submit the achievement of departmental target in the prescribed table every month in the office of the metropolitan commissioner of KMC.
Mayor directed the officers to submit written explanation who failed to get their revenue target in the previous financial year and said they also give their suggestions for increase in revenue of KMC.
He said that municipal utility charges and tax are an important revenue source of KMC and all-out efforts should be made to make the concerned department and staff operational so that the survey work, data upgrading, bill printing and distribution system could be made effective and speedy.
