17 injured as jeep plunges into ravine near Mirpurkhas

At least 17 people, including women and children, sustained injuries when a speeding jeep lost control and fell into a ditch in Goth Dhani Bux Rustamani area near Mirwah Gorchani on Sunday.

According to police, the victims, residents of Goth Gario in Tharparkar district, belonged to the Dal community and were reportedly on their way to offer condolences to relatives when the ill-fated incident took place.

As soon as the incident was reported, Mirwah Gorchani police reached the scene and, with the help of local residents, shifted the injured to the Mirwah Gorchani Rural Health Center. Six critically injured individuals were later shifted to Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas for further medical treatment.

The injured include children and women, identified as Sabhai, Noori, and Rehmat among others, along with the jeep driver, Ashok Meghwar. Local residents extended assistance by providing water, juices, tea, and warm clothing to the injured.
