19th July holds special significance in Kashmir’s history

Srinagar, July 18, 2022 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that the Accession to Pakistan Day, observed on 19th July every year, is of special significance and an important day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir when the Kashmiri people had attached their future with Pakistan in 1947.

It was on this day in 1947 that the Kashmiris adopted a historic resolution from the platform of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in Srinagar, calling for accession of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan.

The APHC General Secretary Molvi Bashir Ahmad Irfani, Dr Musaib, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League and Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in their separate statements issued in Srinagar reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue struggle till the goal set in the 19th July resolution was achieved.

They said that the people of Kashmir had been sacrificing their precious lives for last seventy-five years not only for liberation of Kashmir from Indian occupation but also for protection and safety of Pakistan.

The leaders said that India had illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir through its military might while Kashmiris were struggling and paying sacrifices for their just cause and freedom from Indian bondage.

The statements reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the struggle for freedom from Indian occupation and complete merger of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan for which over five lac Kashmiri people have rendered their sacrifices so far.
