Climber: (Army helicopters rescue Russian climber from Latok Peak)

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan Army aviation pilots on Tuesday rescued a Russian climber Alexander Gukov who was stuck at 20650 feet high Latok Peak in Biafo Glacier in Northern areas of the country.

He has been shifted to CMH Skardu for necessary medical care. The rescue mission was under taken by Pakistan army aviation helicopters under extreme weather conditions making it first ever rescue from such height in Pakistan.

The Russian climber was stuck on Latok Top since 25th of this month and had exhausted his supplies since last 3 days. Seven rescue attempts were made but due to snow clouds the climber couldn’t be located or rescued.

Politics: (BAP announces unconditional support to PTI to form govt at center)

ISLAMABAD:Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has announced unconditional support to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to form government at the center.

The announcement was made by BAP chief Jam Kamal while talking to newsmen along with PTI leaders Jehangir Tareen and Shah Mehmood Qureshi at Bani Gala in Islamabad on Tuesday after meeting PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Jam Kamal said BAP and PTI have common vision and hence formed alliance both at the center and in Balochistan. He expressed resolve that the two parties will work jointly for development of Balochistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Jehangir Tareen said the two parties have reached understanding on formation of government in Balochistan.

He said the slot of Chief Minister Balochistan is right of BAP, and PTI supports BAP’s nomination of Jamal Kamal as chief minister. He said change will definitely take place in Balochistan.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said his party will ensure development in Balochistan in collaboration with BAP. He said the people of Balochistan demonstrated courage by coming out of their houses on the polling day despite facing terror threats and used their right to franchise.

Resignation of SMBBMU VC accepted

LARKANA:The Sindh Chief Minister has accepted the resignation tendered by Prof: Dr. Ghulam Asghar Channa, Vice Chancellor (VC), Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU), Larkana, in June 2018 and has directed Prof: Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Pathan, Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, SMBBMU, to hold additional charge of the post of Vice Chancellor, in addition to his own duties, with immediate effect and till the appointment of new VC.

However, Prof: Pathan has not taken over the charge and was waiting for official receipt of the notification which is circulating on WhatsApp which has been signed by Section Officer (Universities) Kamal Ahmed and issued on July 30, 2018.

Prof: Channa tendered his resignation on 5th June 2018 for the reasons which he mentioned in his letter addressed to the Sindh Chief Minister.

He had stated in his resignation letter that for posting and termination of the services on the important posts, no consideration is being given to the comments, consent remarks of the VC who happens to be the chief executive of the university under section 10, (2) of the SMBBMU Act amended 2018.

Abbasi says he will raise voice for Larkana citizens

LARKANA:MPA-elect of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) Moazzam Ali Abbasi has said that he will not join PPP because he has been elected by anti-PPP voters in Larkana, adding if I joined PPP it will be a disrespect to his voters and supporters.

He was addressing a press conference after being elected, at Larkana press club here on Tuesday.

He thanked the voters who made him successful and said that now the voice of Larkanians will be heard in the Sindh Assembly.

He said practical struggle is essential for resolving the core issues of Larkana for which he sought help of political, social, civil society and religious organizations and urged them to work collectively for the betterment of Larkana and its residents.

He claimed that the result of 45 polling stations of PS-11 were halted for one or the other. He said citizens of Larkana voted for him without any greed, fear or favour.

ICAP announces results

Karachi:The Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan has announced the results of Certified Finance and Accounting Professional (CFAP), Multi Subject Assessment (MSA) and Final Examination held in June 2018.

As many as 318 candidates qualified CFAP/Final Examination whereas 2265 candidates have obtained permanent credit.

FFC announces half yearly results

Karachi:Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) has announced half yearly results for the year 2018.

The company earned Rs 43.27 billion as sales revenue more than 43% higher than last year owing to higher offtake. FFC’s net profit recorded an improvement of around 24% to Rs 4.72 billion translating in an earnings per share of Rs 3.71 for the half year ended June 30th, 2018.

The Board of Directors has also announced second interim dividend of Rs 1.40 per share with an aggregate distribution of Rs 3.15 per share for the first six months of 2018.

Woman found dead with throat slit

KARACHI:The body of a woman was recovered from a house in SITE Superhighway area of the metropolis on Tuesday.

According to police sources, a 23-year-old woman, Hajira, wife of Raheem, was found dead at a house with throat cut in Noor Mohammad Khan Goth. The cause of death could not be ascertained yet. However, police registered a case and stated investigation.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
