Dipl: (Russian envoy lauds Pak’s contribution in war against terror)

ISLAMABAD:Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Y. Dedov has lauded Pakistan’s contribution in the war against terror.

He was delivering a lecture on “Pakistan-Russia Relations: Is there a New Trajectory” in Islamabad on Wednesday. It was organized by Islamabad Policy Research Institute.

The Russian Ambassador said Pakistan is facing the challenge of terrorism and it has launched effective operations against the menace.

He said there is an understanding between the two countries to enhance bilateral economic cooperation.

He said Pakistan and Russia are closely working in different fields including energy. Alexey Dedov said Russia wants a peaceful Afghanistan.

Court: (SC announces 12 vacancies of law clerks)

ISLAMABAD:The Supreme Court has announced vacancies of Law Clerks for a period of 01 year commencing in September, 2018 as part of the Supreme Court’s Law Clerkship Programme.

The required qualifications / terms and conditions are mentioned in advertisement available on the Supreme Court website: www.supremecourt.gov.pk.

Interested candidates may apply after going through the advertisement. The deadline for submitting applications is August 17, 2018.

IDB: (IDB President assures full cooperation to Pakistan)

ISLAMABAD:President Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Dr. Bandar bin Mohammad Hamza Hajjar has assured full cooperation from IDB to Pakistan in all its projects in in the country.

He gave the assurance during a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Khan Hasham bin Saddique who called on him in Jeddah Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting they dilated upon the IDB projects in Pakistan. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia also held a meeting with Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Conference, Dr Yousaf Al-Othaimeen in Jeddah.

They discussed the Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders’ announcement to hold the blasphemous cartoon competition under the garb of freedom of expression.

They condemned the announcement and discussed various measures to sensitize the non -Muslims on the sensitivity of the issue and to prevent the event.

Other matters related to bilateral interest also came under discussion during the meeting.

Dipl: (Russia to continue support Islamabad in rooting out menace of terrorism)

ISLAMABAD:Russia says it has no objection to Pakistan’s membership of the Nuclear Suppliers’ Group and is ready to work towards consensus-based discussions on this issue.

This was stated by Russian Ambassador Alexey Dedov, while addressing a seminar titled ‘Pakistan-Russia Relations: Is there a New Trajectory?’ in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Lauding Pakistan’s sacrifices and efforts to successfully root out terrorism from the country, he said Russia will continue to support Islamabad in this regard.

On Kashmir issue, the Ambassador said Russia has been trying to build trust between Pakistan and India through the SCO forum and once trust is restored, they will reach a final solution to the issue.

GB: (Govt constructing RCC Bridge to connect far off villages with main roads: CM)

ISLAMABAD:Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman has said that government is constructing RCC Bridge to connect far off villages with main roads.

This he said while talking to flood affectees in Bago village, near Gilgit.

He said provincial government will not leave alone the flood affectees at this crucial juncture and utilized all available resources for their rehabilitation.

He directed to the official concerned to call tender of water supply scheme and construction of primary school building within a week. He also announced construction of one kilometer road in Bargo.

ISLAMABAD:Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Dr. Hassan Askari says media played its positive role during the general elections and fulfilled the national responsibilities with complete professionalism and commitment.

He said this during a meeting with Caretaker Minister of Information and Culture, Ahmed Waqas Riaz who called on him in Lahore on Wednesday.
