COVID-19 claims 11 more patients, infects 691 others

Karachi, October 02, 2021 (PPI-OT): As many as 11 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,425 and 691 new cases emerged when 14,416 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Saturday. He added that 11 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,425 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.

 

Mr. Shah said that 14,416 samples were tested which detected 691 cases that constituted 4.8 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,054,188 tests have been conducted against which 458,553 cases were diagnosed, of them 93.7 percent or 429,537 patients have recovered, including 660 overnight. The CM said that currently 21,591 patients were under treatment, of them 21,170 were in home isolation, 27 at isolation centers and 394 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 336 patients was stated to be critical, including 34 shifted to ventilators.

 

According to the statement, out of 691 new cases, 202 have been detected from Karachi, including 61 from West, 55 South, 34 East, 32 Korangi, 15 Central and 5 Malir. Hyderabad has 160, Badin and Tharparkar 28 each, Naushero Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad and Sanghar 27 each, Sujawal 23, Thatta 21, Dadu 19, Mirpurkhas 16, Ghotki and Tando Allahyar 15 each, Umerkot 14, Jacobabad 13, Shikarpur 11, Sukkur 10, Larkana 9, Khairpur and Tando Muhammad Khan 6 each, Jamshoro and Kashmore 3 each, Kamber 1. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.

After successful Grand Auction of 5 prime plots in an open auction in Lahore CEO, LCBDDA – Mr. Imran Amin along with team CBD called on NLC, DG – Major General Yousaf Jamal for a briefing session regarding site discussing the developmental work on site. DG NLC, Major General Yousaf Jamal and CEO LCBDDA also planted trees on site.

Five security forces personnel martyred in North Waziristan

Islamabad, October 02, 2021 (PPI-OT): Four Frontier Corps soldiers and one Levies Sub inspector embraced shahadat during terrorist attack on security forces vehicle in Spinwam, North Waziristan on Saturday. According to ISPR, those who embrace shahadat include Havaldar Zahid, Havaldar Ishaq, Lance Naik Wali, Lance Naik Abdul Majeed and Sub Inspector Javed.

 

Clearance operation is in progress to eliminate any terrorist found in the area. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib and Interior Minister Shaikh Rasheed have condemned the terrorist attack on a vehicle of security forces in North Waziristan.

 

In their separate statements today, they have expressed sorrow and grief over martyrdom of soldiers of Pak Army and lavy force in the incident. They said the nation stands by the security forces in the war on terror and their sacrifices will not go in vain.

Pakistan, Tajikistan agree for joint efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan

Islamabad, October 02, 2021 (PPI-OT): Pakistan and Tajikistan have agreed for joint efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan. This understanding was reached during a telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on Saturday.

 

They also discussed the overall situation of Afghanistan in details. Both expressed satisfaction over the bilateral relations between the both countries and reaffirmed to make these relations further strengthen. The Prime Minister underscored the urgent imperative to address the humanitarian needs of the Afghan people.

Government to provide subsidy worth Rs 125 billion to common men: Tarin

Islamabad, October 02, 2021 (PPI-OT): Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin says the government will provide targeted subsidy worth 125 billion rupees from this month to facilitate common men. In an interview with the private channel on Saturday, he said the government is working to eliminate poverty taking bold steps.

 

He said six million families are being covered by Ehsaas program while 15 million families were provided assistance during Corona pandemic. He said the government is launching a new program from Monday under which interest-free loans for the period of three years will be provided for business.

Islamabad, October 02, 2021 (PPI-OT): State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib says Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision is to enable fast transformation of Pakistan into a welfare state. Addressing Workers Convention in Faisalabad on Saturday, he said that downtrodden and less privileged segments of the society are being steered out of the poverty through Ehsaas like projects.

 

He said that Prime Minister is committed to promoting the positive and soft image of Pakistan in the comity of nations. The State Minister said that previous governments were only focused on corruption, money laundering and fake accounts instead of taking steps to increase production into the country and improve the economy. Enemies of Pakistan to be dealt with iron hands: Rasheed

Islamabad, October 02, 2021 (PPI-OT): Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has expressed the determination that enemies of Pakistan will be dealt with iron hands and terrorism will be eliminated from each and every corner of the country.

 

Talking to media men in Karachi on Saturday, he made it clear that nobody will be allowed to use Pakistan’s land against any one, similarly any land used against Pakistan will not be tolerated. To a question he said that there will be no talks with enemies of the country, however talks could be held with those who will lay down arms and will be willing to follow the constitution of the country.
