COVID-19 claims one more patient, infects 213 others 

Karachi, October 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as one more patient of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,568 and 213 new cases emerged when 10,991 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Sunday. He added that one more patient of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,568 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.

Mr. Shah said that 10,991 samples were tested which detected 213 cases that constituted 1.9 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,417,533 tests have been conducted against which 469,183 cases were diagnosed, of them 95.9 percent or 449,943 patients have recovered, including 544 overnight. The CM said that currently 11,672 patients were under treatment, of them 11,432 were in home isolation, 25 at isolation centres and 215 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 213 patients was stated to be critical, including 11 shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 213 new cases, 42 have been detected from Karachi, including 21 from East, 7 Korangi, 6 South, 4 Central and Malir each. Tando Muhammad Khan has 25, Badin and Hyderabad 16 each, Thatta 14, Shaheed Benazirabad 13, Sanghar and Sujawal 11 each, Larkana and Naushero Feroze 10 each, Tando Allahyar and Tharparkar 9 each, Matiari, Umerkot and Mirpurkhas 6 each, Sukkur 5, Dadu, Jacobabad and Jamshoro 1 each. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.

FBR Registers Historic Revenue Collection Growth of 36.6% from July-October 2021 

Islamabad, October 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has released the provisional revenue collection figures for the months July-October of current Financial Year 2021-22. According to the provisional information, FBR has collected net revenue of Rs.1,841 billion during July-October of current Financial Year 2021-22, which has exceeded the target of Rs. 1,608 billion by Rs. 233 billion. This represents a growth of about 36.6% over the collection of Rs. 1,347 billion during the same period last year.

The net collection for the month of October, 2021 realized Rs. 440 billion, representing an increase of 30.5% over Rs. 337 billion collected in October, 2020. These figures would further improve before the after book adjustments have been taken in to account.

On the other hand, the gross collections increased from Rs. 1,413 billion during July-October, 2020 to Rs. 1,932 billion in current Financial Year, showing an increase of 36.7%. The amount of refunds disbursed was Rs. 91 billion during July-October, 2021 compared to Rs. 66 billion paid last year, showing an increase of 37.7%.

Saudi Vision 2030 provides opportunities to realize Naya Pakistan’s ambitious plan: Prime Minister 

Islamabad, October 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Imran Khan says Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 provides opportunities to Pakistan to engage with it in realizing Naya Pakistan’s ambitious plan. In an interview with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Riyadh newspaper published on Sunday, he said there are significant complementarities in the socio-economic fundamentals of the “Naya Pakistan” and the Saudi Vision 2030.

The Prime Minister said both lay emphasis on economic opportunity and diversity, domestic growth, modernization and development, and trade linkages and connectivity. He said Pakistan can contribute skilled and semi-skilled manpower with Saudi Arabia besides sharing its expertise in other sectors like IT, infrastructure development, and agriculture.

Imran Khan said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have historically enjoyed long-standing fraternal ties, rooted deep in common faith, shared history and mutual support. He said both countries have stood by each other, through thick and thin, regardless of the change in leadership.

Government committed to promote interfaith harmony: Ashrafi 

Islamabad, October 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):Special Representative to Prime Minister on Religious Harmony Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi says things are going towards positive direction and government wants to settle the law and order issues amicably.

Talking to media in Lahore on Sunday, he said that the government wants to hammer out a permanent solution to the issues as peace is our destination. He said that interfaith harmony has been promoted in the era of present government. He said that every Muslim is ready to sacrifice his life for Namoos-e- Risalat (SAW). Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said that the people are standing beside our security forces.

KP to get maximum benefit from completion of CPEC: Speaker National Assembly 

Islamabad, October 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser says Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will get maximum benefit from the completion of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. Addressing a public gathering in Swabi on Sunday, he said the network of motorways in the province will improve the socio-economic condition of the people besides creating job opportunities.

Speaking on this occasion, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan said inflation in the country is due to the flawed policies of the previous incapable regimes. Addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed said Prime Minister Imran Khan took many steps for the welfare of downtrodden segments of society.

He said after successful completion of the Sehat Insaf Health Card Scheme in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it will be launched in the Punjab this year. Murad Saeed said the Prime Minister has raised voice for the Namoos-e-Risalat (SAW) at international fora.

Government banned TLP reach agreement of mutual understanding 

Islamabad, October 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):The government and banned outfit Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan have reached an agreement of mutual understanding. This was announced by Mufti Munib ur Rehman while addressing a news conference along with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan and Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser in Islamabad on Sunday.

Mufti Munib ur Rehman said under the agreement, a steering committee has been formed that will be headed by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan and this committee will become functional from Sunday. He said details of the agreement will be disclosed on a suitable time.

He further said, the agreement was reached after sense prevailed over aggression, rationality prevailed over sentiments, and all the participants demonstrated patience. He thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan who formulated a committee for talks with the banned TLP and also expressed confidence in the committee’s proceedings.

Mufti Munib ur Rehman said the agreement is also backed by TLP Chief Hafiz Saad Hussain Rizvi. Speaking on the occasion, the Foreign Minister thanked all the members who played their role in reaching out to this agreement. The Minister said peace will prevail in the result of this agreement. He said we believe in the power of negotiations and everyone should play the role for betterment of the country.

He said that country is on right path of progress under the leadership of Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. He said that the incumbent government has tackled lot of challenges successfully.
