Pakistan’s Gen Raza meets Bahrain’s military leaders

RAWALPINDI: General Nadeem Raza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, who is on an official visit to Bahrain, called on top-level civil-military leadership of Bahrain including H.E Majesty, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.R.H Prince Salman Bin Hamad Bin Isa Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, ISPR said in a statement on Thursday.

The geo-strategic situation, security challenges and matters of bilateral interests were came into discussion during the separately held meetings. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to work for peace and security in the region and beyond. The dignitaries asserted that Pakistan and Bahrain share a rich history of brotherly relations. Acknowledging the performance of the Pakistan Armed Forces, dignitaries firmly mentioned Pakistan as an essential pillar and power of the Islamic world.

Earlier, Chairman JCSC also held bilateral meetings with H.E Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, Commander in Chief, Bahrain Defence Forces and HE General Sheikh Mohammad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Commander Bahrain National Guard. Matters of mutual professional interests were brought into discussion during the meetings. Chairman JCSC emphasized the need to further enhance the existing defence, security and training cooperation between both countries.

Later, General Nadeem Raza also visited the Royal College of Command and Staff and National Defence College and interacted with faculty members, senior Bahraini Military Officials and under training officers.

Fazl believes rulers have failed to implement true spirit of religion

Kandhkot: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said Thursday that Pakistan was achieved in the name of Kalima Shahadat but the rulers have been making fun of it for the last 70 years.

The JUI-F chief was talking to an audience at Chachar House in Kandhkot on Thursday. The Maulana deplored that the Kalima which gave us protection and freedom, by reciting this very Kalima we had become slaves of the global powers. He lamented that 70 years had gone, but we could not achieve the purpose for which this country was created. He said “a man does have two ideologies – one ideology is related to home and the other is related to national ideology.”

The Maulana was of the view that to safeguard human rights was our duty. While addressing the audience, he said they were scions of Sindhi land and Allah had bestowed them with reason. We all should protect this country, he added. Fazl said rulers have failed to implement true spirit of religion

Pakistan conducts successful test of Shaheen-1A ballistic missile

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan on Thursday conducted successful flight test of Shaheen-1A surface to surface ballistic missile.

According to ISPR statement, the test flight was aimed at re-validating certain design and technical parameters of the weapon system. Flight test was witnessed by Lieutenant General Nadeem Zaki Manj, Director General Strategic Plans Division, Dr Raza Samar, Chairman NESCOM, Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command and the scientists and engineers of strategic organizations.

Director General Strategic Plans Division congratulated scientists and engineers on successful conduct of flight test. He appreciated the technical prowess, dedication and commitment of scientists and engineers for their excellent contribution. President, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs congratulated the scientists and engineers on this achievement.

In August 2021, Pakistan successfully test-fired surface to surface Ghaznavi ballistic missile, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. The successful training launch was aimed at ensuring the operational readiness of Army Strategic Forces Command, besides re-validating technical parameters of the weapon system.

MBBS girl’s mysterious death: Medical report says death was caused by hanging with rope

LARKANA: The provisional postmortem report of Dr Nausheen, daughter of Syed Hidayat Ali Shah, was issued on Thursday in which the Woman Medico-Legal Officer Dr Rukhsar Samo has written that “death is due to Asphyxia caused by hanging with rope (ligature material) antemortem in nature and sufficient to cause the death in ordinary course of nature. The cause of death reserved for analysis of vesera which were taken for chemical and histopathology examinations. After receipt, such reports will be communicated later on, as per the authorities

Body of 4th year MBBS student Dr, Nausheen was found from her hostel room on Wednesday. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Larkana Range, Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh, said while talking to newsmen that the investigation is going on smoothly in the student Nosheen case which is being looked after by SSP Larkana and Kambar-Shahdadkot. He said that he had meetings with the vice chancellor, security staff, girl students and others adding fingerprints, video, photos and other evidence have also been received which will help in investigation.

He said it will be known whether it was a suicide or murder. He said that after receipt of the postmortem report facts will come out. He said in this age children are faced with education, financial and other problems. He said a letter found from the room has also been sent to the laboratory for forensic analysis. In reply to a question, DIGP replied “we have not sealed the hostel”.

On the other hand, Students Action Committee of the Chandka Medical College (CMC), different political and social welfare organizations held separate protest demonstrations demanding justice for Dr. Nausheen. Students including Imran Mari, Imran Buriro, Awais Dahani, Siraj Junejo, Aftab Chandio and others demanded removal of the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Vice Chancellor (VC), CMC Principal and girls hostel provost and to include them in the investigation.

They alleged that Dr. Nausheen had been killed. They claimed the blood was oozing out of the nose and mouth of Dr Nausheen and her both feet were on the table. They said this is the third incident which has taken place in the hostel with the same conditions of rope, fan and table. They said that if these incidents are of suicide, then why the university authorities have not probed the causes of such suicides so far and why the investigations have not yet been made public. They said CMC and hostels have been suddenly closed at midnight through a circular issued by the registrar but we will not allow such things to happen.

Meanwhile, General Secretary, JUI-Fazal, Sindh, Maulana Rashid Mahmood Soomro, has demanded a high-level inquiry into the Dr. Nausheen case to ascertain whether it was a suicide or a murder. He said the media was kept away for three hours which is not a proper act. He said it must also be investigated why CMC has become the land of such incidents. He further demanded that it must also be probed why such incidents are taking place with girl students who are our future assents. He warned that if authorities tried to hide the facts it would be resisted.
