25 development projects underway in Balochistan varsities: Solangi

QUETTA: Caretaker Federal Minister for Education, Madad Ali Sindhi, has said that 25 development projects of the federal government were ongoing in the universities of Balochistan and it was being considered to grant bailout package to the universities of Balochistan.

These views were expressed by him while chairing a meeting of the Vice Chancellors of different universities of the province to review the affairs of Balochistan’s universities. Sindhi said that caretaker government was going to laid a nice foundation, adding that time had arrived to take the universities towards proper utilization of funds, imparting quality education and discipline.

He said no one could deny the problems of the universities, adding that in that regard a task force would be formed by giving representations to all the provinces, so as to improve the standard of education.

He added that the problems of the universities would be placed before the Council of Common Interests (CCI) on the recommendations of caretaker Prime Minister. He said, “We want to give bail out package to the universities and a committee, comprising representatives from all the provinces, be formed by Chairman, Higher Education Commission”, adding that finding a solution to the problems of the universities of the province had been prioritized by the incumbent caretaker government.

The meeting was attended by caretaker provincial Minister for Education, Amjad Rashid, Chairman, Higher Education Commission, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, vice chancellors Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Dr. Ehsan, Dr. Sajida Noureen, Dr. Abdul Malik, Dr. Jan Muhammad, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed, Dr. Dost Muhammad, Director General, Higher Education Commission, Balochistan, Zahoor Bazai and others.
