41 killed, several injured as coach plunges into ravine near Lasbela

LASBELA: At least 41 passengers were killed and several others injured when a Karachi-bound coach plunged into a ravine near Lasbela area of Balochistan on Sunday.

According to rescue and local administration, said the coach carrying 48 passengers was travelling to Karachi from Quetta when it fell into the ravine and caught fire. There was hue and cry of the passengers soon after the accident.

The coach crashed into the pillar of a bridge while taking a U-turn near Lasbela. As many 39 bodies have been recovered from the burned vehicle so far. The bodies and injured were shifted to nearby hospitals.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has expressed deep grief and shock over the tragic incident and ordered the Karachi authorities to extend cooperation to the Lasbela authorities to facilitate the heirs of victims.
