7.5 million sexagenarians will be vaccinated in Punjab

LAHORE:Around 7.5 million sexagenarians will be vaccinated in the province. The health department is actively working to overcome the second corona wave and that the increase in corona cases is due to the negligence of the people.

This was stated by Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid during a meeting with Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office. He discussed vaccination of elderly citizens and the steps taken for dealing with the second corona wave.

The CM expressed his concerns over the rising number of corona cases and directed an effective implementation of SOPs. The citizens should also follow necessary precautionary measures as their cooperation is important for overcoming the coronavirus, he added.

Similarly, the CM stressed that the citizens should follow anti-corona guidelines as the government has taken several practical steps to overcome the spread of the virus. Rashid said the health department was actively working to overcome the second corona wave and maintained that the increase in corona cases was due to the negligence of the people. The citizens should follow guidelines to remain safe from this virus, she advised.
