In the final trials organized by the Karachi Hockey Association (KHA), 72 talented young players have secured a spot in the next phase of the 35th National Games.

The selected male players include Abdul Rafay, Ali Ghauri, Saleem, Safeer, Usman Hameed Ansari, Tanveer Ahmed, Zafir, Shahbaz, Aamir, Ali Afridi, Sami, Siddique, Abdul Bari, Abeer, Daniyal, Mujtaba, Mohsin, Kabir, Azaan, Ali Abbas, Mubashir, Kaka, Bilawal, Ghulam, Hammad, S. Ahmed, Talha, Fayyaz, Faraz Duck, Hadi, Ali Hasnain, Muhammad Rayan Hameed Ansari, Fakhir, Rayan Mahmood, Ubais, Ehtisham Ali, Mairaj Muhammad Ali, Hasnain Ali, Mairaj Kazim, Sadaqat Ali, Imtiaz Ali, Waqar Hassan, Muhammad Ashraf, Salam Alaikum, Fayyaz Khan, Mir Musa, Mir Ishaq, and Muhammad Ayan.

The shortlisted female players include Shazma Naseem, Yusra Mubeen, Nida Anjum, Hafsa Zafar, Sundus Siddiqui, Rumesa, Syeda Ayesha Mehmood, Mehak, Rija Moiz, Samina Tabassum, Kinza Nadeem, Iqra Iqbal, Gulnaz, Dua Yaseen, Musfirah Furqan, Mahin Alvi, Momal Sakina, Maryam Zahid, Dua Khan, Saima Ghulam, Mahnoor, Hamna Nadeem, Seharish Sabir, and Ayesha Arif.

These competitive trials were held at the Olympian Hanif Khan and Dr. Junaid Ali Shah KHA Sports Complex in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, which saw a large number of participants aspiring to secure a place in the provincial team.

Out of more than 100 male participants, 48 were shortlisted for the Sindh team trials. In the women’s category, 24 promising players were selected from 50 participants, paving the way for a tough competition for the final selection.

The selection committee was headed by Olympian Iftikhar Syed and included experts such as Olympian Wasim Feroz, International Laiq Lashari, International Tasleem Usmani, International player Salman Sheikh, Mahia Moin, Samira Naseem, and Batool Kazim. District Sports Officer Ismail Shah also participated as an observer to ensure transparency.

The final trials for the men’s team will be held on October 12, at 3 PM at the KHA Stadium.
