LARKANA: Four incidents of robberies, thefts and forcible snatchings occurred in Larkana on the same day on Wednesday due to which lawlessness has been termed common by the traders.
In this connection, traders have demanded protection against unrest by staging a sit-in and held a protest demonstration. According to the details, armed men raided the flour mill of Waqar Sheikh on Bakrani road of Larkana’s Dari police station and stole Rs. 5 lakh cash and a mobile phone. On the other hand, shopkeepers protested against this incident and unrest on Bagrani road by setting fire to tires and raising slogans.
On that occasion, Waqar Shaikh of the flour mill along with other shopkeepers said that we were sitting at the flour mill where the motorcycle-riding armed men came into the shop and looted 5 lakh rupees at gunpoint. They said that cases of robbery, thefts and and forcible snatching occur daily in the Bagrani Road area, but the police have completely failed to control the crime and arrest the criminals. They appealed to IGP Sindh, DIGP and SSP Larkana to arrest the criminals and give them protection by returning the money and other goods.
On the other hand, Larkana Chamber of Commerce President Ahmed Ali Sheikh, Senior Vice President Abdul Wahid Sheikh, Vice President Pawan Kumar and a delegation of businessmen including members of the executive committee met with the affected businessman Waqar Sheikh and took details about the incident.
Shaikh reminded the officials and businessmen community that the robbers involved in the robbery incident will be arrested very soon and the money and mobile phone will be returned, after which the President of the Chamber of Commerce Ahmed Ali Shaikh talked to SSP Dr. Muhammad Imran on the phone and urged him to arrest the culprits involved in the incident to end lawlessness, on which the SSP said that the CCTV footages and other evidence have been collected about the incident and the criminals will be arrested, the money and mobile phone will be refunded. The traders informed him that lawlessness has become common in the city which need to be curbed with iron hands of law so that they could feel secure.
Meanwhile, Abdul Ghani Phulpoto was robbed of his motorcycle near Agani Laro of Mahota police station limits Zeeshan Kalhoro was robbed of his mobile phone and cash from the jurisdiction of the same police station. On the other hand, Rs15 lakhs were stolen from the empty house of Niaz Jhatyal in the Gasoline Depot area.
