PCG seizes foreign goods and Irani diesel worth millions

GWADAR: Pakistan Coast Guard claimed to have seized foreign goods and Irani diesel worth millions of rupees in different operations conducted in different areas of Balochistan province. 294 illegals immigrants were also detained in Jiwani area of district Gwadar.

Spokesman for Pakistan Coast Guard in a statement issued here on Friday said that 645000 litre Irani diesel was recovered from 19 trucks in different operations conducted at Naka Kari check post, Uthal. 20 alleged accused were also arrested during the operation. He said that 833 kilogram high quality hashish and 42 kilogram ice were recovered from a speed boat in Gwadar while 280 kilogram hashish was recovered in an operation conducted at Paleri area of Gwadar.

Spokesman further added that 80,417 kilogram betel nuts, 24163 packets of Indian Gutka and other goods were recovered from the hidden cavities of passenger buses at Coastal Highway area of Gwadar besides recovering 274 smuggled mobiles from a passenger coach at Coastal High of Gwadar.

Similarly, 294 illegal immigrants, who intended to proceed abroad illegally, were arrested in Jiwani and Gatani area of Gwadar. Illegal immigrants were later handed over to FIA. Spokesman said that seized goods valued at millions of rupees, adding that Pakistan Coast Guard remains fully vigilant to thwart any unlawful activities in the coastal areas of Balochistan province.
