Hyderabad Summit Focuses on Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The Directorate of Youth Affairs, Hyderabad, organized a one-day summit titled Promoting Youth-Led Initiatives: Supporting Innovations and Entrepreneurship in Sindh to encourage young people in entrepreneurship, innovation, and skill development. The event, held at the SSB Hostel Training Hall near Niaz Stadium, was aligned with the Sindh Youth Policy 2018.

The summit was led by Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Chief Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, under the guidance of Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, Abdul Aleem Lashari. The event gathered young entrepreneurs, innovators, and key stakeholders from Hyderabad, providing them with a platform for networking, mentorship, and knowledge exchange.

Assistant Director of the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Rizwan Ali Mallah, opened the session by outlining the summit’s objectives. Speakers, including Shakeel Abro, Amber Sanam Laghari, Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Kazi, and Dr. Ameer Ali Abro, discussed entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic opportunities for the youth.

Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Kazi, Associate Professor at SZABIST Hyderabad, underscored the importance of entrepreneurship, stating that a business can be passed down to future generations, unlike employment. Assistant Director in the Irrigation Department, Amber Sanam Laghari, encouraged young women to explore entrepreneurship, pointing out the opportunities that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Director at SITCO, Shakeel Abro, emphasized that entrepreneurs can overcome challenges in the modern technological landscape. Climate change expert and sociology professor, Dr. Ameer Ali Abro, highlighted the social and economic impact of youth entrepreneurship in Sindh and urged attendees to pursue their aspirations.

The summit attracted participants aged 15-29 from colleges, universities, and social sector organizations across Hyderabad. Representatives such as Lareb Ali from SZABIST Hyderabad and Azad from the CSSP organization were also present.

Assistant Director Rizwan Ali Mallah reiterated the Directorate of Youth Affairs’ commitment to organizing similar initiatives across Sindh to support young entrepreneurs and contribute to economic growth.
