Wafaqi Mohtasib Office Resolves Over 223,000 Complaints in 2024

Wafaqi Mohtasib Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi announced on Tuesday that his office addressed and resolved a record number of over 223,000 complaints in 2024.

While briefing media personnel at the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat, Qureshi highlighted the office’s significant achievements over the past year.

He noted that the total complaints received exceeded 226,000, marking a 17% increase from 2023. The resolution ratio saw a 16% enhancement compared to the previous year. Qureshi emphasized the office’s success in achieving a 93.21% implementation rate of its decisions, a notable rise from 85.70% in 2023.

Throughout the year, the office organized 126 Khuli Katcheries nationwide to bring administrative justice closer to the people. Additionally, 171 Outreach Complaint Resolution visits were conducted, resolving 4,840 cases. The Wafaqi Mohtasib also revealed plans to open a new regional office in Dera Ghazi Khan, expanding their presence in 25 cities, including Muzaffarabad and Gilgit Baltistan.

Regarding overseas Pakistanis, Qureshi reported receiving 151,897 complaints in 2024. As President of the Asian Ombudsman Association, he underscored Pakistan’s efforts to promote Ombudsmanship across Asia. A public awareness campaign initiated by his office has been yielding positive results, raising awareness about the forum’s existence.
