Asia’s entrants for Women’s T20WC 2026 Qualifier confirmed

Thailand and Nepal have earned their places in the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier following decisive victories in the final phase of the regional qualifying tournament. The two teams emerged successful from a Super Three contest, effectively ending UAE’s hopes of advancing.

Nepal overcame the UAE in a closely contested match in Bangkok, successfully chasing down a target of 114 runs in the final over, ensuring their progression. The Nepalese bowlers, led by Manisha Upadhyay with figures of 4/20, restricted the UAE to 114/7, setting up a manageable chase. Indu Barma and Rubina Chhetry were instrumental in the batting effort, securing a five-wicket victory.

Thailand’s qualification came after a commanding performance against UAE, where they posted 144/5, largely due to Natthakan Chantham’s aggressive 46 and Nattaya Boochatham”s steady 49. The UAE struggled in response, finishing at 90/5, never truly challenging Thailand’s total.

With Thailand”s match against Nepal as the only remaining fixture, both teams have accumulated enough points to advance, joining Bangladesh, Scotland, and the USA in the Global Qualifier. The upcoming Europe and Africa Qualifiers will determine two more participants, while the East Asia-Pacific Qualifier offers one additional spot.

The top four teams from the Global Qualifier will earn places in the main event scheduled in England and Wales, joining pre-qualified teams including hosts England, Australia, India, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
