Three National Tennis Championships to be Held in Karachi in July

Three national tennis tournaments will be held in Karachi from July 10 to August 1. The Sindh Tennis Association (STA) and Karachi Tennis Association (KTA) will organize these events in collaboration with the Pakistan Tennis Federation.

The month-long tennis festival will kick off with the 21st Westbury National Seniors and Juniors Tennis Championships at the Karachi Club from July 10-17. The Westbury Group is returning as sponsors for the 21st year, providing prize money of Rs. 150,000. Their continued support demonstrates a commitment to sporting activities and nurturing young talent.

Following this, the 1st Sohail University National Seniors and Juniors Tennis Championships will take place at the DA Creek Club from July 18-25. This first-time sponsorship from Sohail University showcases their dedication to sports programs and youth engagement. This tournament also carries prize money of Rs. 150,000.

From July 26 to August 1, the 2nd Genco Solar Open National Ranking Tennis Championship will be held at a venue to be announced soon. A significant increase in the prize money, which has risen from Rs. 150,000 in its inaugural year to Rs. 850,000, demonstrates growing confidence in the STA and KTA. Top-ranked Pakistani players, including Aqeel Khan, are expected to compete. These consecutive events highlight the growth of tennis in Pakistan and the positive impact of private sector partnerships in promoting the sport.
