Pakistan Shaheens Conclude England Tour With Series Win

Pakistan Shaheens returned home today after a successful 15-day tour of England, highlighted by a 2-1 one-day series victory against the Professional County Club Select XI. The tour also included two drawn three-day matches, providing valuable experience for the emerging players.

The one-day series showcased strong performances from several players. Azan Awais led the batting charts with 164 runs, including two fifties, while Ubaid Shah spearheaded the bowling attack with six wickets. His standout performance included a four-wicket haul in the final one-day match.

The longer format matches offered further opportunities for evaluation. Shamyl Hussain topped the run aggregates with 151 across four innings, featuring a half-century. Promising centuries came from Ali Zaryab and Rohail Nazir in the second three-day fixture against the South Asian Cricket Academy and MCC Young Cricketers.

Head coach Imran Farhat expressed satisfaction with the tour outcomes. He praised the team”s bowling and fielding in the one-day series and highlighted the rotation policy employed to ensure maximum participation.

Farhat also noted improvement in the top-order batting during the three-day games. He emphasized the importance of continued first-class experience for the developing players. The coach was pleased with the identification of potential future international players across both formats.

A key objective of the tour was assessing player adaptability to English conditions, considering Pakistan”s upcoming tour. Individual development plans will now be implemented for each player, focusing on technical, tactical, and professional growth, preparing them for the rigors of international cricket. Farhat believes the tour successfully built a strong bench strength for Pakistan cricket.
