Punjab Police Relief Activities Continue in Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab Affected Areas

On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Police are providing assistance in flood-affected areas along the banks of the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers.

Inspector General of Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that the district police are working in collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), emergency response teams, and local authorities. Their joint objective is to protect residents and their property.

Police deployments have been made in flood-affected areas near the three major rivers, where officers are assisting residents in moving to safer locations. They are also assisting in the distribution of relief goods and providing security to prevent looting and other crimes that often increase during natural disasters.

The joint efforts of the police, disaster management, and administrative authorities aim to mitigate the effects of the floods and provide necessary assistance to the victims. The Chief Minister’s directive demonstrates the government’s commitment to protecting its citizens during this challenging time.
