Mirpur Mathelo Assistant Commissioner Dr. Rana Haseeb imposed heavy fines on two local restaurants for storing expired food items. During a surprise inspection, Dr. Haseeb found expired items in kitchens and cold storage units.
The spoiled goods were immediately confiscated and disposed of. One restaurant was fined Rs. 35,000 while the other was fined Rs. 20,000.
Dr. Haseeb announced that this crackdown against food safety violations would continue following the Deputy Commissioner’s orders.
