Citizens Rally, Stage Sit-in at Arthur Branch Against Robbery and Attempted Murder in Naseerabad

Residents of Naseerabad marched and staged a sit-in from Shah Latif Public Park to Arthur Branch Bridge to condemn the robbery and attempted murder of Abdul Wahab Chandyo. Various political and social groups participated in the protest, organized by Boat House.

Participants included Mushooq Ali Phulpoto, Singhar Noonari, Ishfaq Mason, Khuda Bux Singharo, Inayat Tunio, Ashiq Ali Kalhoro, Comrade Jamil Sheikh, Riaz Phulpoto, Mustafa Mason, Zamir Magri, Qari Muhammad Usman Magri, Sufi Ghaffar Kamanan, another Riaz Phulpoto, Izhar Wahocho, Sagri Tunio, Naji Chana, Dildar Airi, Ali Gohar Jatoi, Ali Anwar Kandhro and Ishaq Ahmed Sheikh.

The protesters accused the police of being complicit in the rising crime in Naseerabad. They said that some stolen items are recovered due to public pressure, but the culprits often escape arrest.

Laborers robbed Chandyo of Rs. 400,000 and shot him in the leg while he was traveling from Warah to Naseerabad. He is currently receiving medical treatment.
