47 Punjab University Faculty Members Among Top 2% Scientists Globally

According to a list of the world’s leading researchers compiled by Stanford University, 47 faculty members of Punjab University (PU) have ranked among the top two percent of scientists worldwide. This list, developed by Stanford Professor John Ioannidis and his colleagues, evaluated one hundred thousand scholars from various academic disciplines.

These PU faculty members represent fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Chemical Physics, Business and Management, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Optoelectronics, Plant Biology, Mechanical Engineering, Zoology, Polymers, and others. The group includes Dr. Muhammad Saeed Akram, Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Dr. Munawar Iqbal and dozens of other notables.

PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali congratulated the faculty on this milestone, stating it would enhance the institution’s global standing. He attributed this success to administrative efforts fostering a robust research environment. He reiterated his commitment to continuing support for scholarly activities for positive social and economic contributions.
