The Sindh Employees Alliance strike has paralyzed government operations and healthcare services in Thatta, Sindh, leaving citizens stranded and medical treatment inaccessible. All government offices, including the Deputy Commissioner Office, Forest Officer Office, Treasury Office, Degree College, and Sindh University Campus, are closed.
The impact of the strike on healthcare is particularly severe. A complete boycott of outpatient departments (OPDs) at Civil Hospital Makli has left hundreds of patients, including those traveling from remote areas, without medical attention. Employees are staging a sit-in outside the Civil Surgeon’s office, and departments such as Medical, Surgery, Dental, Pediatrics, Scan, and Eye are closed.
The closure has increased the burden on the Emergency Department, exacerbating difficulties for both OPD and emergency patients. Scheduled surgical procedures have also been postponed.
Workers are demanding that the Sindh government withdraw the notification of pension deductions and address their demands, including the dispensary allowance.
