The funeral prayers for five of the six family members killed in Khairpur on Tuesday were offered on Wednesday at Siddique Akbar Mosque in Khairpur, led by Maulana Owais Phulpoto.
Pakistan People’s Party’s district president and former Member of National Assembly Nawab Khan Wassan, SSP Khairpur Hassan Sardar Niazi, and mourners from different segments of society participated in this mournful ceremony.
Grain and date markets remained closed in mourning for the deceased. According to reports, this tragic incident was caused by Naveed Arain’s wife, Aisha, who allegedly shot and killed her husband and children and then committed suicide. The motive appears to be linked to conflicts arising from Naveed’s second marriage. Aisha had released a video before her death, revealing the second marriage.
Following the incident, the second wife, identified as the daughter of Murad Ajan, and her brother, who resides in Islamabad, have demanded that the authorities not involve them in the incident. They insisted that their marriage was conducted in accordance with Islamic law and have called for a full investigation to uncover the truth behind the tragedy.
