A delegation of Jordanian police officers today praised the advanced technological infrastructure of Safe City Islamabad, expressing admiration for the city’s high-tech surveillance system, which includes facial recognition cameras crucial for identifying suspicious individuals and maintaining security.
The visiting officials were hosted by Director General Safe City Islamabad, Muhammad Haroon Joya, and SSP Safe City, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, who provided a comprehensive tour of the facility.
During the visit, the Jordanian group was shown the central control system, the Command and Control Center, and the Police Operations Center Hall. They observed the network of modern surveillance cameras and were given a detailed briefing on the system”s operational mechanics and overall effectiveness.
The Islamabad Police representatives explained that the Safe City project plays a vital role across various sectors through its advanced initiatives. They detailed the functions of its core components, including the Police Operations Center, Emergency Control Center, Dispatch Control Center, and the ‘Pukar-15’ emergency helpline.
It was emphasized that the city-wide surveillance cameras are instrumental in maintaining security, preventing criminal activities, and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.
The briefing also highlighted the strategic installation of facial recognition cameras at Islamabad’s entry and exit points. These sophisticated cameras are significantly aiding law enforcement in identifying and tracking persons of interest.
The Jordanian delegation acknowledged the effectiveness of the modern policing framework and commended the Islamabad Police for its technological prowess. The visiting officers thanked the DG Safe City and his team for the informative and successful tour.
