Students from the Department of Biotechnology at Women University Mardan will now have access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities at Bacha Khan Medical College for their research projects, a significant development following a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions.
According to a university report today, this landmark partnership aims to resolve common research hurdles and foster a new era of academic cooperation in the region.
The collaboration was highlighted during a seminar held on October 27, 2025, organized by the university”s Department of Biotechnology. The event, titled ‘Challenges in Student Research and Crafting a Robust Research Synopsis: From Idea to Approval,’ drew a large number of scholars from the BS and M.phil programs in Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry.
Dr. Iftikharuddin, Dean Research Associate at Bacha Khan Medical College (MTI) and Chairperson of the Department of Public Health and Community Medicines, served as the guest speaker. He addressed the primary objective of the session, which was to equip young researchers with practical strategies for overcoming difficulties faced during project design and data collection.
The talk also served as a platform to explore potential joint research ventures between the faculty members of both academic bodies. This initiative is a direct outcome of the recent MoU, which was facilitated under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, the Worthy Vice Chancellor of Women University Mardan.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by the Head of the Department. Certificates of appreciation were also distributed to the participating faculty members to acknowledge their contribution to the collaborative effort.
