Smog feared in Punjab due to dry weather, precautionary measures advised

The Meteorological Department has advised the citizens of Punjab to take precautionary measures on Saturday as smog is feared in most districts of the province due to persistent dry weather and environmental pollution.

According to the weather forecast, the weather will remain dry in most parts of the country. However, the weather is expected to remain cold in the mountainous areas during the morning and night hours.

Temperatures recorded in some major cities on Saturday morning were Islamabad twelve, Lahore nineteen and Karachi twenty-two degrees Celsius. Peshawar recorded fifteen, Quetta eight, Murree nine, Gilgit four and Muzaffarabad ten degrees Celsius.

In occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the weather is forecast to be cold and dry in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla, while the weather will also remain dry in Jammu.

According to the temperatures recorded in the region this morning, Srinagar, Pulwama and Anantnag were at seven degrees Celsius. Jammu recorded fifteen, while Shopian and Baramulla recorded eight degrees Celsius. Leh was the coldest place with minus two degrees Celsius.
