Gratuity and encashment checks distributed among more than 20 employees of Mirpurkhas Municipal Corporation

The Mirpurkhas Municipal Corporation has started the distribution of long-overdue gratuity payments, with Mayor Abdul Rauf Ghori citing the institution’s “limited resources” as the reason for the delay.

In a formal ceremony held at his office on Monday, Mayor Ghori handed over gratuity checks to more than 20 former employees and also provided two additional encashment checks.

The mayor said, “Keeping in view the difficulties of the corporation’s retired employees, their outstanding gratuity checks are being distributed to them today.” He confirmed that it is the administration’s priority to provide the gratuity amount to all retired personnel as soon as possible.

Mayor Ghori described the former staff as an asset who dedicated their lives to the institution, and reiterated the administration’s commitment to pay their dues as soon as possible.

The move was praised by Deputy Mayor Samira Baloch, union officials Mazhar Abbasi and Abid Ali. They said that the event established a “good tradition” of the corporation paying the dues of its former workers.

The retired employees receiving gratuity present at the ceremony thanked Mayor Abdul Rauf Ghori and the municipal officers. A large number of corporation members and officials were also present on the occasion.
