Karachi Gadap police have taken into custody the notorious accused Abdul Basit, allegedly involved in multiple street crime incidents within the jurisdictions of various police stations.

A spokesperson for the Malir police confirmed on Thursday that acting on a credible tip-off, the police conducted an operation within the Gadap police station jurisdiction, which resulted in the successful arrest of Abdul Basit.

During the arrest, authorities recovered a 30-bore pistol along with bullets from the accused’s possession.

The recovered weapon has been sent for comprehensive forensic and chemical examination as part of the evidence collection process.

A formal case has been registered against the arrested accused under the relevant sections, and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the full details of his alleged activities.
