Bahman Nature Park inaugurated in new Larkana to combat climate risks

To combat the growing impacts of climate change, Bahman Nature Park was formally inaugurated today in Green City Larkana, established as a dedicated sanctuary for local biodiversity.

The inaugural ceremony was held on Monday, organized by Conservator Arshad Haider Kamyaryo, and led by Forest Advisor Wildlife Mir Babul Khan Bhayo, who officially opened the facility to the public.

Several prominent figures attended the event, including People’s Party leaders Tariq Khan Siyal, Adil Altaf Khan Unar, and Khair Muhammad Shaikh. High-ranking government officials such as Commissioner Larkana Tahir Khan Sangi and DC Sharjeel Noor Channa, along with a large number of forest department officers from across the province, were also present.

The park is designed to provide a natural environment for the breeding and growth of local birds, animals, and trees.

Addressing the ceremony, Mir Babul Khan Bhayo confirmed that future development plans include significant improvements to the park’s infrastructure and the construction of a new conference hall.

Conservator Arshad Haider Kamyaryo highlighted the crucial role of such parks and urban afforestation in mitigating environmental degradation. He said, “Parks like this and urban afforestation are essential for mitigating our climate change impacts,” and urged that “citizens should also participate enthusiastically and plant more trees.”
