Deputy Commissioner Manzoor Ahmed Kunrani on Tuesday inaugurated the annual sports week at Cadet College Ghotki and emphasized the key role of sports in youth development, saying that a healthy society is formed only when youth participate in sports activities alongside their educational responsibilities. He said these things while addressing as the chief guest at the inauguration of the annual sports week at Cadet College Ghotki.
The event started with a grand and colorful opening ceremony, which was attended by a large number of college administrators, teachers, cadets, and other guests. The formal proceedings began with a march-past by the cadets, followed by various athletic and physical demonstrations that were highly appreciated by the audience.
In his address, Kunrani stressed that sports are not just essential for physical strength. He said that participation in sports instills discipline, promotes hard work, fosters teamwork, and builds self-confidence, all of which are necessary for the complete physical and mental development of the youth.
The Deputy Commissioner praised Cadet College as an excellent educational institution providing quality education and an excellent training environment, and said that its positive results are clearly visible. He added that development is impossible in the modern era without education and encouraged all cadets to fulfill their parents’ dreams and bring honor to the country and nation in the future.
Earlier, the Principal of Cadet College, Brigadier (R) Emal Khan, delivered the welcome address. He thanked the Deputy Commissioner for his participation and highlighted the institution’s year-round educational and training activities. Khan affirmed that the sports week plays an important role in the physical, mental, and moral training of the cadets.
