A high-level delegation from the Sindh Human Rights Department today lauded the Sindh Police”s technological initiatives for improving public safety and grievance redressal, following a detailed inspection of the Safe City Project and Complaint Management System (CMS) on Tuesday.
The visiting officials, led by Rajvir Singh Sodha, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Human Rights, were welcomed at the Central Police Office (CPO) by DIG Headquarters Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh.
During the visit, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Syed Muhammad Ali Raza Shah delivered a comprehensive presentation on the Safe City operations. He detailed the project”s real-time monitoring capabilities, integrated surveillance network, command center functions, and the technological tools being utilized to deter crime across the metropolis.
The delegation also toured the Complaint Management System facility, where SSP Shah and the CMS team explained the platform”s digital complaint-registration process and monitoring mechanisms. The system”s coordinated workflow with the Sindh Human Rights Department”s own complaint cell was highlighted as a key feature for ensuring accountability and efficient resolution of human rights-related grievances.
Mr. Sodha expressed his satisfaction with the police initiatives, commending the professionalism of the team and describing the projects as significant steps toward modern policing and stronger citizen protection. He announced that the Human Rights Department will integrate information about these systems into its upcoming public education and outreach programmes.
Director (Human Rights) Agha Fakhur Hussain, who accompanied the special assistant, noted that both platforms represent substantial progress in promoting institutional transparency and the rule of law.
The meeting concluded with both the Sindh Human Rights Department and the Sindh Police reaffirming their commitment to continued collaboration to safeguard human rights and maintain effective mechanisms for citizen complaints.
