UE Hosts 6th Annual International Conference on Advances in Materials Science

The University of Education (UE) today inaugurated one of its largest-ever scientific gatherings, the 6th Annual International Conference on Advances in Materials Science (AIMS-2025), bringing together a global assembly of academics and researchers to address a subject of worldwide scientific importance.

The two-day event, organized by the university’s Department of Physics, Division of Science and Technology, commenced on December 3 at the UE campus. The conference features 72 keynote, invited, and guest speakers from 13 countries, including the UK, Spain, Australia, South Africa, China, and South Korea.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Saeed Ahmad Buzdar, Vice Chancellor of Thal University Bhakkar, as the Chief Guest, and was presided over by Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Ch., Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Lahore. The event was also attended by distinguished scientists including Prof. N. M. Butt and Prof. Fazal-e-Aleem as Guests of Honor, with Dr. Faheem Khurshid Butt serving as the Conference Chair.

In addition to the international speakers, the symposium includes presentations from 46 poster presenters and 46 registered speakers, representing a broad community of scholars and innovators in the field.

Addressing the inaugural session, Prof. Buzdar praised the institution for organizing the event around a timely and impactful theme. He described such collaborative platforms as “the need of the hour” to advance research in materials science.

In his presidential address, Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Ch. highlighted UE”s expanding research footprint. “With 9 campuses in 7 cities of Punjab and 5 academic divisions, the University of Education is creating new horizons in translational research,” he stated, adding, “We are striving for a better future built upon our historic academic legacy.”
