Federal Minister for Food and TEVTA Javed Iqbal Budhanvi has said that the appointment of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces is an important milestone for the country’s security, defense strategy, and institutional strength.
The central leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) said in a statement today that the establishment of the new high-level military post is “the beginning of writing a new history” in the country’s defense structure.
Budhanvi expressed confidence that the new military leadership will not only modernize the defense system but also enhance Pakistan’s prestige at the regional and international levels. He described Field Marshal Munir as an exceptionally talented and experienced commander and predicted that under his guidance, the Pakistan Army will play a significant role in making the country’s defense more impregnable.
The minister reiterated that the nation has full confidence in its commander and salutes the “eternal sacrifices” of the armed forces in protecting the borders and the war against terrorism. He emphasized that the sacrifices of the soldiers who laid down their lives for the motherland can never be forgotten and the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the army.
Regarding dealing with potential threats, Budhanvi said that enemy elements are conspiring to weaken Pakistan and spread chaos, but a united nation and a strong army will not let any conspiracy succeed. Citing his party’s legacy, he said that leaders from Zulfikar Ali Bhutto to Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto sacrificed their lives for the country’s integrity, democracy, and public rights.
Budhanvi described the Peoples Party as the true representative of the poor and middle class, saying that the party’s primary objective is to immediately solve public issues like inflation, unemployment, health, and education. He pledged that the Peoples Party will continue its struggle for the state’s development, political stability, and economic strength.
