Pakistan’s Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, today championed the OIC Cultural Festival as a critical opportunity for strategic cooperation and cultural rapprochement among Islamic nations, positioning the event as a powerful platform for intellectual exchange.
Speaking at the inauguration of the “OIC Cultural Festival: Baku Creative Week – 2025,” the minister stated that Pakistan takes great pride in Azerbaijan’s leadership, noting that its capital has emerged as a vital meeting point for the Muslim world, providing new momentum for collaboration.
Khichi emphasized that Pakistan, as a fraternal nation, highly values Azerbaijan’s endeavors in advancing cultural diplomacy and commended its significant contributions on both regional and global stages.
He affirmed Pakistan’s readiness to actively engage in any initiatives designed to bolster Islamic solidarity and champion shared cultural values across the member states.
“We see this platform not merely as a festival, but as a significant opportunity for cultural rapprochement, creative exchange, and strategic cooperation within the Islamic world,” he remarked.
The minister added that the collective history, cultural origins, and religious bonds of Islamic countries create a genuine partnership, and he reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to supporting cooperation at all levels to fortify this unity.
He concluded by expressing confidence that Baku”s ongoing cultural initiatives would continue to reinforce the collective identity of the Islamic world and deepen the collaborative ties among OIC member states.
