Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, today called for the mandatory integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into all academic curricula, describing technological skill development for the nation’s youth as an “urgent national requirement.” The minister delivered the remarks while addressing an AI Summit at Bahria University as the Chief Guest.
Sheikh asserted that the future of the world is intrinsically linked with AI and placed the responsibility on educational institutions to spearhead efforts in equipping students for forthcoming challenges, underscoring that education remains the foundation of national progress.
Highlighting the country”s economic prospects, the minister pointed to significant investment opportunities available in the technology and AI sectors, alongside other emerging fields. He articulated that strategic capital allocation in these areas could substantially boost Pakistan”s economic expansion.
Citing China”s developmental success as a model, Sheikh observed that the nation”s remarkable progress was achieved through a sustained commitment to education and technological advancement. He suggested that Pakistan could replicate this trajectory by prioritizing investment in innovationdriven industries.
The federal minister further elaborated that coupling investment with AIpowered solutions would unlock new pathways for enhanced productivity, job creation, and overall economic development.
He concluded by reaffirming the Board of Investment”s unwavering commitment to promoting and facilitating investment in technology, AI, and other highgrowth economic sectors.
