A senior official from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) today asserted that the immediate release of party Chairman Imran Khan is the only effective solution to steer the nation out of its severe economic and political turmoil.
In a statement, Faheem Khan, PTI Karachi’s Senior Vice President, attributed the country’s predicament to the “flawed policies” and “undemocratic approach” of the current administration, which he claimed has led to widespread political victimisation.
The former Member of the National Assembly (MNA) argued that these policies had pushed Pakistan towards the verge of bankruptcy, with the public bearing the brunt of soaring inflation, rising unemployment, and deepening poverty.
Khan cautioned that a continuation of the prevailing circumstances would plunge Pakistan’s economy “further into darkness,” citing a destroyed investment climate, shuttering industries, and growing hopelessness among the nation”s youth.
He posited that only under Imran Khan’s leadership did the nation achieve economic stability and international respect, asserting that the former prime minister still commands the trust of the majority of Pakistanis.
Stressing that the nation is navigating a critical phase, the PTI leader called for national unity over political confrontation, emphasising that political differences must be resolved through dialogue and democratic principles, not by force.
He warned that attempting to sideline a political party that he claims enjoys the backing of nearly 80 per cent of the populace would not produce positive outcomes, stating that “history bears witness that public verdicts cannot be suppressed.”
Faheem concluded by demanding the release of Imran Khan as a necessary step to restore national stability and set the country back on a path of progress.
