Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi Senior Vice President and former MNA Faheem Khan on Monday said that former prime minister Imran Khan delivered unprecedented achievements during his three-and-a-half-year tenure, achievements that have no parallel in Pakistan’s 70-year history.
In a statement, Mr Faheem condemned the incumbent administration, labelling it a “Form-47-backed fake government” and accusing it of dismantling public welfare projects and destroying the nation”s economy. He asserted that a popular leader has been imprisoned for over two years in “false cases”.
The former MNA hailed Imran Khan’s three-and-a-half-year tenure as an era of unprecedented achievements, claiming they had no parallel in Pakistan’s 70-year history. He stated that the PTI founder safeguarded the nation”s sovereignty and sent a clear message that the country would no longer operate under external pressure.
Mr Khan highlighted what he described as a bold foreign policy, citing the downing of an Indian aircraft, a complete halt to drone attacks, and the establishment of relations on an equal footing with the United States, China, Russia, and key Middle Eastern nations. He also credited the former government with playing a decisive role in the peaceful conclusion of the war in Afghanistan.
Economically, the PTI official pointed to a significant revival under the previous government, noting that exports rose from $21 billion to $38 billion, tax collection increased to Rs6,000 billion, and foreign exchange reserves grew to $31 billion. He also mentioned the conversion of the Reko Diq penalty into a historic investment deal as a major success.
The statement detailed numerous welfare initiatives, such as the Ehsaas Programme and the Sehat Card, which provided free medical treatment to impoverished citizens at leading private hospitals. Mr Khan remarked that reducing fuel and electricity prices offered real relief to the common person.
According to the PTI leader, farmer-friendly policies led to a substantial increase in agricultural output and restored prosperity to the farming community. He also noted that the construction sector generated millions of jobs and that Pakistan’s pandemic response was praised by international institutions.
Environmental and cultural projects were also praised, including the Billion Tree Tsunami, the construction of new dams, the launch of Skardu International Airport to promote tourism, and the introduction of a single national curriculum.
Mr Faheem asserted that Imran Khan was the only premier against whom no corruption case could be proven during his term, adding that he adopted simplicity and protected national resources.
He expressed confidence that the people of Sindh would come out on the streets to support the PTI’s call for an end to inflation and for the release of their party”s founder.
