Pakistan has formally extended a welcome to the nations commencing their 2026-27 tenure as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, expressing its intent to collaborate closely on matters of global stability.
In an official communication, the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the UN articulated its readiness to work with the incoming cohort, says MOIB’s report today.
The mission stated it looks forward to “working closely with them in advancing the Council”s responsibilities for the maintenance of international peace and security”.
The newly inducted countries-Bahrain, Colombia, Congo, Latvia, and Liberia-have joined Pakistan, Denmark, Greece, Panama, and Somalia to serve on the council for the new term.
