PM Sharif Pays Tribute to Sincere Friend of Pakistan Khaleda Zia

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday visited the High Commission of Bangladesh, paying a rich tribute to former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, whom he described as a “visionary leader” and a “sincere friend of Pakistan” following her passing.

During his visit, the Prime Minister formally conveyed his commiserations to the Bangladeshi Charge d’Affaires, inscribed a personal message in the condolence book, and offered Fateha, a traditional prayer for the deceased.

In his written message, Mr Sharif lauded Begum Zia as an eminent political figure who had dedicated her life to public service, noting that she leaves behind an enduring and inspirational legacy.

On behalf of the government and citizens of Pakistan, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt sympathies to Begum Zia’s family, her supporters, and the people of Bangladesh. He also prayed for the departed soul to be granted the highest place in Jannah.

The Prime Minister was accompanied on his visit by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the PM, Tariq Fatemi.
