Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday reinforced his commitment to the socio-economic advancement of South Punjab, underscoring its development as crucial for the nation’s overall progress during separate meetings with regional dignitaries.
The discussions took place in the capital with Hafiz Hussain Ahmed Madani and Nawabzada Sardar Rafiq Abbasi, where matters concerning the region came under review with a specific focus on its distinct needs and priorities.
The Acting President articulated that the prosperity of South Punjab is fundamentally linked to the progress of Pakistan as a whole.
During the consultations, the visiting delegates acknowledged Mr Gilani’s contributions to the country, with special recognition for his efforts benefiting the southern region of Punjab.
Tribute was also paid to his timely and effective public service initiatives during the recent floods, with the visitors noting his active role in organising relief and support operations for affected communities.
