Hundreds Rescued as Authorities Conclude Successful Snowstorm Mission in Balochistan

Hundreds of people, including dozens of passengers trapped inside their vehicles, have been successfully saved following a major rescue effort in the snow-affected regions of Balochistan, a government official confirmed on Friday.

Shahid Hameed Rind, Aide to the Chief Minister for Political and Media Affairs, announced that the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) had completed an effective and timely operation to bring stranded individuals to safety.

He stated that despite extreme cold and adverse weather conditions, personnel from the PDMA, district administrations, and associated rescue teams performed their duties with dedication, saving hundreds of lives.

In a statement, Rind described the response as ‘clear evidence of the Balochistan government”s preemptive preparation, effective strategy, and institutional coordination.’

He conveyed that Balochistan”s Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, had commended the overall performance of the PDMA and praised all the teams involved in the difficult mission.

To acknowledge the commitment and professional services of the responders, Rind said that certificates of appreciation would be awarded to the supervising officers and field teams at the instruction of the Chief Minister.

He added that the provincial government was taking steps to further enhance the capacity of the PDMA to handle natural disasters, ensuring an immediate and effective response could be mounted in any future emergency.
