Weather – Severe cold weather across the country, temperature below freezing point in Quetta, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad and Murree

According to the latest bulletin from the Meteorological Department on Sunday, a wave of severe cold has gripped the northern areas of the country and northern Balochistan, where the temperature has dropped well below the freezing point at several key locations.

According to the forecast, the weather in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan will remain severely cold and partly cloudy.

In contrast, in most other parts of the country, the weather is expected to remain generally cold and dry throughout the day.

According to the temperatures recorded in major urban centers this morning, Quetta was the coldest place with minus three degrees Celsius, followed by Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Murree at minus two degrees Celsius. In other cities, Islamabad and Peshawar were at five, Lahore at nine, and Karachi had a minimum temperature of twelve degrees Celsius.

The department’s report also mentioned Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where the weather in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramulla is forecast to be partly cloudy and severely cold. For Jammu, the forecast indicated that the weather will remain cold and dry.
