PTI Alleges Widespread National Anxiety Over Imran Khan’s Health, Jail Conditions

A senior Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) official today voiced grave concerns over the health of the party’s founder, Imran Khan, alleging that restrictions on his medical care and family visits, coupled with the purported mistreatment of his sisters outside Adiala Jail, have caused widespread anger and anxiety throughout the nation.

Faheem Khan, PTI Karachi Division’s Senior Vice President, asserted in a statement that circulating reports about the former prime minister”s well-being have deeply unsettled the public. He claimed the PTI chairman is being deliberately isolated from his family, party leaders, and the public, describing the action as inhumane and a violation of global democratic norms.

The former MNA called for immediate and comprehensive medical examinations for the PTI founder, demanding transparent and appropriate treatment to allay public concerns. He characterised the restrictions on medical access and meetings as an assault on fundamental democratic principles.

According to the PTI leader, the continued ban on meetings is a calculated effort to suppress the truth, not merely an administrative measure. ‘The dream of weakening the nation by isolating Imran Khan will never be realised,’ he stated.

Faheem Khan warned that obstructing meetings, despite explicit court orders, raises serious questions about the rule of law in the country. He added that the party would not tolerate any negligence concerning its leader’s health and safety, noting that history would ultimately judge the treatment of Imran Khan.

The statement strongly condemned the alleged mistreatment of Imran Khan’s sisters, who were reportedly stopped and harassed outside Adiala Jail. Faheem Khan described targeting women due to their family connections as a reflection of “moral bankruptcy” and “institutional decay,” alleging the prison had become a centre for political victimisation.

He labelled the alleged harassment of the former prime minister’s family as an unacceptable tactic intended to cause mental anguish, terming it a violation of international human rights standards. ‘The use of force against women cannot be justified in any civilised society,’ he remarked.

Concluding his remarks, Faheem Khan affirmed that the nation stands in solidarity with Imran Khan and his family, adding that while ‘acts of oppression may be temporary… truth and justice can never be suppressed forever.’
